Break-of-dawn greeting for ‘The Screaming End’ - GENE VINCENT

When Gene Vincent arrives at London Airport tomorrow (Saturday), there will certainly be no shortcomings in the welcoming party. In spite of the fact that he is due to arrive at 6.55 a.m., there will be coach loads of fans who have got out of bed at the crack of dawn to greet him.

Jack Good and a few of the Vernons Girls hope to be there-not forgetting EMI executives and the Press. Gene’s first few hours in Britain will be rather hectic-after the welcome-in reception, he will appear on BBC’s “Saturday Club,” which goes on the air exactly three hours and five minutes after his plane touches down !

The following day, he rehearses with a group led by Firing Squad member and singer Joe Brown for his guest appearance in “The Marty Wilde Show” at Tooting Granada the same day. After that he may find some time to relax before he travels to Manchester to rehearse his “Boy Meets Girls” spots.
