GENE VINCENT TO STAY FOR JANUARY SHOWS
(4 December 1959)
Hopes to remain for three months
Gene Vincent, the American rock star who arrives in Britain tomorrow (Saturday), may spend much of the early part of next year in Britain. His visit, which was originally solely for television, has aroused so much interest that he is now trying to clear dates in the U.S. to undertake a three-month British tour in the Spring.
Vincent is already booked to head a package that will play twelve Granada theatres in London and the provinces next month…
Titled “Be-Bop-A-Lula” (Gene’s disc hit in 1956), the show will also spotlight British artists…
After his concert at Tooting this Sunday, Gene appears in three ABC TV “Boy Meets Girls” shows. On Dec. 15, he stars in the “Musicorama” radio show in Paris. He goes to Germany before the January tour starts.
